Hurricane Protection

Roll-down Screens

Roll-Down-Screens Tampa Bay

Roll-down screens are retractable screens made with Kevlar fiber, a material that is both strong and lightweight. They install on side rails and roll into a top box, just like shutters. When lowered, they block wind, rain, sun, and insects while still allowing visibility and airflow. They’re ideal for patios, terraces, or outdoor areas that need protection without losing natural light.

Crimsafe Tampa Bay

Crimsafe

Crimsafe screens withstand hurricane-force winds of up to approximately 150 mph (≈ 240 km/h) and can resist debris impacts equivalent to about 550 foot-pounds.

They use Tensile-Tuff® structural stainless steel mesh, which is thicker than many competitors’, to better withstand impacts.

The Screw-Clamp™ system secures the mesh tightly to the frame (“like a vise”), distributing the force of impact across the entire frame.

The screens also help improve energy efficiency: they block around 53% of solar heat gain and about 62% of UV rays, which can reduce air conditioning use.

Accordion Shutters

Accordion shutters are hurricane protectors that fold like an accordion on the sides of windows or doors. They are made of durable aluminum, slide along tracks, and lock with a key or latch. They provide quick and reliable protection against wind, debris, and intrusions, and are easy to use for both residential and commercial properties.

Bahama Shutters Tampa Bay

Bahama Shutters

Bahama shutters are awning-style shutters mounted at the top of windows with hinges.

  • Provide hurricane and storm protection, resisting high winds and flying debris.

  • Help keep interiors cooler by offering shade and reducing solar heat.

  • Can be easily opened outward for ventilation and outdoor view.

  • Add a tropical, decorative look to homes, especially in coastal areas.

  • Commonly made of durable aluminum, requiring low maintenance.

Roll-Down Shutters

Roll Down Shutters are roll-up shutters designed for protection and convenience:

  • Installed in a top housing and slide down vertically along side tracks.

  • Provide strong hurricane protection, resisting high winds and flying debris.

  • Can be operated manually or motorized, even with remote control.

  • Offer extra security against theft and vandalism.

  • Also help with thermal and sound insulation.

  • Commonly built from strong, extruded aluminum for durability.

  • Ideal for large windows, sliding doors, and commercial properties.

Storm Panels

Storm Panels are an affordable and effective option for protecting windows and doors during hurricanes:

  • They are removable panels, usually made of galvanized steel, aluminum, or clear polycarbonate.

  • Installed on tracks or bolts mounted around the window or door frame.

  • Provide high impact resistance against wind-driven debris.

  • Are detachable and reusable, making them easy to store when not in use.

  • Require manual installation before each storm, which takes time and effort.

  • Considered one of the most cost-effective hurricane protection solutions.

Pull-Down Shutters

Pull Down Shutters are practical and functional protective shutters:

  • Work similarly to roll down shutters but are designed for manual operation.

  • Stored in a top housing and pulled down by hand when needed.

  • Provide hurricane protection against strong winds and flying debris.

  • Also offer extra security against theft and vandalism.

  • Can cover windows, doors, patios, or large openings.

  • Typically made of durable, heavy-duty aluminum.

  • A more affordable option than motorized shutters, yet equally reliable.

Hurricane Fabric Shutters Tampa Bay

Hurricane Fabric

Hurricane Fabric is a modern, lightweight, and durable hurricane protection system:

  • Made from high-strength fabrics, such as vinyl polymers or PVC-coated mesh.

  • Withstands high winds and flying debris impacts during storms and hurricanes.

  • Lightweight and easy to install, much easier to handle than metal or aluminum options.

  • Secured with hooks, tracks, or anchoring systems around doors and windows.

  • When not in use, it can be folded or rolled up, taking up very little storage space.

  • Allows natural light to pass through, unlike solid barriers.

  • Considered an affordable, practical solution approved by building codes in coastal areas.
